#728 "Let's watch"
What? Ludwig Highbury rhymes with Lublic Pibrary!
I decided to skip the six strips of Gar having a cup of tea and figuring that out.
I picked up Red Dead Redemption recently, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. Setting it in 1911 means your character doesn't have a cellphone his fucking cousin can call him on every five minutes to go bowling or some such bullshit, and your horse doesn't explode if you crash it into too many walls.
There are a couple of things to differentiate it from 'GTA with horses', for one thing it's easier to get your own horse than it is to steal one (press up to whistle for it and it'll come to you anywhere on the map), there's also a fast-travel system that allows you to warp anywhere you've already visited rather than having to trek all the way across the map if you need something from a particular area. Also you're encouraged to be the good guy, which really wasn't so much the case in the GTA games.
If you didn't especially like GTA4, don't let that put you off Red Dead Redemption, it's a better game. Neko the Kitty gives it zero thumbs up.
I also picked up ModNation Racers, but I'll talk about that on Thursday. |
